PLEDGE NICOLE MARIE STROM (in black coat): Amnesty International is a global movement is known for its global movement fighting injustice and promoting human rights. The main focus is Women’s Rights.

PLEDGE LISA MARA JARASHOW & PLEDGE IVY LYNN DAVIS (in black coats; sitting on curved rocky wall): Men and women have different life experiences. Women and girls face discrimination that puts them at increased risk of poverty, violence poor education, and health. Amnesty International focuses on a broad range of human rights, but they are working hard to push for equal rights and opportunities.

PLEDGE TRISHA LEIGH WADDELL (in black coat; besides curved rocky wall): Living without violence is a human right. Women and girls suffer violence in times of peace and war… under the government, at home, and in the community.

PLEDGE BETHANY LEIGH WEINER (in black coat; against curved rocky wall): Access to affordable, moral, accurate and comprehensive health services is a fundamental human right.

PLEDGE JUSTNYA MARIANNA EWA GRELA (in black coat; against curved rocky wall): But gender-based discrimination, lack of access to education and poverty and violence against women and girls, which are oppressed and unrecognized. Safe motherhood and reproductive and sexual rights come with challenges to be faced.

PLEDGE CLAIRE SHEFFER TUCKER (in black coat; sitting on curved rocky wall): Women all over the world are dictated by gender norms and live below men. All women deserve to be educated, to work, to be healthy, and to participate in all parts of life.

PLEDGE CHELSEA LYNN MORRIS (in black coat; against curved rocky wall): Many women all over the world who fight for human rights risk imprisonment, torture harassment, or even death.

PLEDGE ALEXANDRA POLIVANCHUK (in black and white color; sitting on armchair): There is one young 15-year-old girl. Her name is Malala Yousafzai. She fought for women‘s right to education. Last year on October 9th in Pakistan, she was on her way home from school. She was shot in the head by the Talibans. Talibans are strictly against women’s right to education. Malala was brought to the hospital and survived. She recovered and still did not stop fighting for women’s right to education and recently she got nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. She is the youngest person to receive this honor.

PLEDGE MICHELLE CLARA MANSFIELD-HOM (in black and white color; sitting on armchair): Malala is only a child. Talibans targeted her because she fought for her human rights.

Women activists have worked persistently to break social norms and cultural taboos to lead brave and inspiring campaigns for women’s rights.
